RAAMP
The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has initiated the preparation of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), the successor of the Second Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP-2).The project will be supported with financing from the World Bank and the French Development Agency (AFD) and will be guided by the Government’s Rural Travel and Transport Policy (RTTP). The lead agency for the Federal Government is the Federal Department of Rural Development (FDRD) of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD).
The Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU) is overseeing the project on behalf of FDRD, while the respective state government of sixteen (16) participating states will implement it. The overall objective of RAAMP is to improve rural access and agricultural marketing in selected participating states whilst enhancing sustainability of the rural and state road networks. Ekiti State is one of the States selected to participate in RAAMP rural access.
RAAMP is to improve rural access and agricultural marketing in selected participating states, whilst strengthening the financing and institutional base for rural and state road networks.
The principal goal of RAAMP, according to the Project Implementation Manual (PIM), is to improve the livelihood of small holding farmers and micro agro-processors through the provision of rural access and transportation system that will facilitate the delivery of agricultural inputs, services and technology that will increase productivity and production; and to support agro-logistics interventions that will reduce post-harvest losses, increase the price for agricultural and livestock produces through value addition and generate employment for the youth thereby reducing poverty and joblessness.

SPIU
SPIU Responsibilities
The State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) comprises core operational staff which is headed by the State Project Coordinator (SPC).
Overseeing technical specification for the procurement of necessary IT hardware, software, applications and the materials to be procured. Also, evaluate project’s progress against targeted outcomes and impact.
Monitoring components of the projects and generation of project specific information on progress, procedures and performance.
Financial management, coherent filing system to include procurement preparation, contract management, correspondence, claims and reports.
